| 1. Fruits of The Tree of Knowledge is a series of six works exploring the human psyche's construct of duality as seen through the events in Jena, Louisiana, December 2006. All accounts report that at Jena High School in Jena, Louisiana, nooses were hung from a tree that was normally the province of white students and claimed to be "the white tree," after a black student requested permission to sit under it. Racial violence erupted soon after, culminating in the controversial prosecutions that became known as the case of the "Jena Six". The imagery I derived is rooted in these events.
